The School of Life Sciences at Peking University is seeking an exceptional and visionary leader to be the Director of the Center for Bioinformatics (CBI). The CBI was the first bioinformatics center in China and was also the first to offer Ph.D. degrees in bioinformatics in China. The successful candidate will work with the School of Life Sciences and other related organizations to develop strategies to strengthen the international reputation and influence of Peking University Bioinformatics. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced scientific leader to work with and advance the research, educational, and service activities of a talented group of investigators in a collaborative setting, and will include the opportunity to recruit new faculty members, to design strategies to enhance the overall bioinformatics research and curriculum, and to shape the training of next-generation bioinformatics researchers.

Qualified applicants should have a strong track record in bioinformatics and computational biology, have multiple years of experience as an independent investigator, and have demonstrated strong organizational capabilities. Candidates should also have a clear vision of the role of bioinformatics in the era of biological big data, a mature view of how bioinformatics best interfaces with experimental biologists and medical researchers, and a passion for driving a great program to further excellence.
